The Top 5

The spider charts for the countries with the top-5 overall innovation scores—Canada (29), Denmark (27)*, Singapore (31), Sweden (28), and the U.S. (37)—display the relative strength (rated on a scale of 0 to 5) of each country in each of the category areas: IP, intensity, enterprise support, education/workforce and foundations. Points further from the center indicate a higher score in a category, and points closer to the center indicate a lower score in a category. A country that scores high in all categories generates a big web (yellow), whereas a smaller web indicates weaker measurements. (*Denmark is listed as a representative of the top-5, although it ranked in a three-way tie for fifth with Finland and Israel.
